Recovering

Okay, okay, I know there is sentiment out there regarding Lug Nuts, like Frog Applause, as so generally just about some sort of surreal or absurdist or grotesque drawing that it doesn’t get close enough to a directly funny joke to justify calling it a CIDU.
But no!, if one of these defiant non-understandable series comes close enough to making comic sense, but still eludes, we can honor the near-miss with our attempts to exercise some acumen.

That said, — Is that a cane? A tail? Does it go out accompanied by the guy while it is not well enough to go out on its own. (Oh sorry, he / him / his?)

  1. He’s talking about someone who recently became a ghost, and needs a cane to get around inside the house. He’s still new at ghosting, so he’s learning it step by step (as it were).

  2. I think the idea is that, when someone is walking with a cane, the person is supporting the “ill” cane and not the other way around…

  3. It’s a cane. And its weird; why/how can a cane go by itself? and then you write ” Does it go out accompanied by the guy while it is not well enough to go out on its own” and you inadvertently hit upon the exact meaning. It is exactly as Targuman said. “The man always goes out with the cane but the man thinks it’s because the cane is not well enough to go out without him and not the other way around”.

  4. Whoever has been using the cane apparently IS well enough to go out by himself, which he has done.

  5. Classic Goon Show exchange. Neddie is trying to contact the pilot of an airplane by radio.

Ned: Calling B4, calling B4. Come in B4.

Ned: Calling B4. Come in B4.
    Bluebottles: Hello Captain!
Ned: Why did you not answer, B4?
    Bluebottles: Because I didn’t hear you B4.
