  1. I found a reference to Dave Van Ronk, but that only explains the “NYC folk musician” part. The dictionary says that a “wonk” is a “person preoccupied with arcane details or procedures in a specialized field” (or more simply: a “nerd”), but I have no idea what the connection to taxes and agronomy is supposed to be.

  2. That is a really desperate set-up for what is not a very good pun. But I see we have influenced him, with him taking the geezer label from us.

  3. Policy wonk: (politics, government) A person who studies or develops strategies and policies, especially one who has a keen interest in and aptitude for technical details.

    I was bit confused that the *songs* were about a *specific* subject and not that the singer was a person with an expertise in them. Also having no idea who Dave von Ronk is….
