  1. Yes, the slip and fall division of the firm would be the division that deals with personal injuries, so this is a play on that. But I don’t see any play on “fall.” Maybe Sanderman should have been portrayed as tottering unsteadily on high heels.

  2. Geezer response: In the mid- to late-sixties, it was fashionable for young women to wear hairpieces that made them appear to have long hair in back. I was only a little brother then, but I believe these were called ‘falls’. So, this cartoon could have been even more feminized!

  3. Whoever did the coloring missed the chance to render this even more confusing by making it a pink slip.

    (In addition to wearing a slip, maybe Sanderman approves employee’s leaves of absence?)
