Is the fact that her hair looks like Trump’s deliberate?
If so, what does the cartoonist mean by that?
If not, how on earth could the cartoonist not have realized?
Please note that this is not a political discussion.

Is the third person supposed to be Hillary Clinton wearing a pants suit? Otherwise I have no idea what he’s saying.

Clearly a Hanging Chad reference (yawn), but I don’t understand exactly what it is he’s saying.

I haven’t a clue. Neither do the two people who sent it to me, each of whom is also past 35. Danziger was looking for the Geezer tag, but earned a CIDU instead.

Over the past few weeks, mostly regarding the Troy Davis case, I’ve read and heard numerous references to “Guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt.” Did they change the rules while I wasn’t looking, or has “guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt” become this year’s “global warming can’t be real, because it’s cold out”?

Maybe this is just too meta for me… but what I’m seeing here is a cartoon called “Bachmann’s Clear View on Gays” which is, itself, stunningly unclear. If the video — it’s an animated political cartoon — isn’t showing up for you, please click here

Has anybody seen a “Toyota recall” comic or political cartoon that was even remotely amusing?

Jeff McAndrew sent this political cartoon that might be better suited for the Arlo Page than for the editorial page Continue Reading »

Okay, personally… I found this amusing until I saw the “debt” caption in the snow. and that was just too much going on at once. If they’d just shown Obama trying to dig his way out of the snow (debt) without the elephant and his comments, that would have made a valid and timely point — but as it stands, there are two different cartoons here, pushing against one another.
As always, your results may vary.

Nicole: Paul Szep does editorial cartoons and is a two time Pulitzer Prize winner as well as a Harvard fellow ….. you would think his comics would be clear.

Okay, H1N1, swine flu, a pig… all the ingredients are in place, but what’s the actual, you know, point here?

Presumably this relates to the Twittering protesters Iran, but I don’t follow exactly what Ohman is getting at.

The New York Post. Because it’s inconceivable that anybody’s going to top this one (and yes, “inconceivable” does mean what I think it means).
But it turns out the Post continues to believe no mistake was made. Editor-in-Chief Col Allan said, “The cartoon is a clear parody of a current news event, to wit the shooting of a violent chimpanzee in Connecticut. It broadly mocks Washington’s efforts to revive the economy. Again, Al Sharpton reveals himself as nothing more than a publicity opportunist.”
Well, of course he is. But like the broken clock that’s correct twice a day, Sharpton’s absolutely right this time.
