A Pennsylvania woman is suing Disney, claiming that on her last visit to Disney World, an employee in a Donald Duck costume groped her breasts, leaving her with post traumatic stress disorder resulting in difficulties eating and sleeping.
Now, I’m in no way excusing what this guy did. I’m perfectly okay with him seeing the inside of a jail cell. There’s a really simple rule of thumb here: you don’t grab a woman’s breasts without her permission. Ain’t really complicated.
That being said though… post traumatic stress disorder? Seriously? If you’re suffering from post traumatic stress disorder because a guy in a Donald Duck costume groped your breasts — to the extent that a guy in a Donald Duck costume can grope anybody’s breasts — then I’m sorry, but I have to think you had some issues before ever setting foot in the Magic Kingdom.

A Texas shuttle bus driver, who was fired for refusing to drive a woman to a Planned Parenthood clinic, is suing his former employee for “reinstatement, back pay, and compensatory damages for pain, suffering and emotional distress,” claiming that his religious rights were violated.
Well, I agree with him. After all, doctors and pharmacists already have the explicit right to refuse to provide and fill birth control prescriptions if these go against their beliefs, even when the patient has no access to alternative doctors or pharmacies and even if, in the case of “morning after pills,” timing is vital — so why shouldn’t Edwin Graning have the same right to do his job only to the extent that his conscience allows?
City employees who who refuse to issue marriage licenses for same-sex couples in states where same-sex marriage is legal? Same deal. Nobody should be forced to violate his beliefs for the sake of his job. And as long as you’re refusing to issue those marriage licenses to gays, come on, interracial marriages?? Those are clearly wrong. It says so in the Bible somewhere.
Likewise the Bible says that divorce is a sin (sort of), so judges should have the right to categorically refuse to grant them.
Real estate agents shouldn’t be forced to show black families homes in white neighborhoods if they sincerely believe people are happier with their own kind.
Pharmacy employees shouldn’t be required to condone homosexual behavior by selling condoms to gay men. It’s a matter of principle, after all.
And what right do colleges have to insist that a professor accept women in his classroom if he sincerely believes that women should remain ignorant, barefoot and pregnant (see paragraph 2, and I suppose the rights of shoe store employees should be protected as well)?

Earlier this summer, Atlantic City’s Borgata Casino hotel settled a lawsuit with the Borgata Babes, the skimpily-attired women who serves drinks to gamblers. Now, I’m sure some of you will think I’m beings sexist here — actually, Zach Weiner and I are going to start up a online version of G.R.O.S.S. — but… (article and your comments)
