It’s a New Year’s Eve tradition: Armstrong posts one of these Earth-sun-moon strips, and I upload it to the CIDU page because I don’t know what the hell he’s trying to say.

I firmly believe that he draws these a year ahead, on the previous New Year’s Eve, after too many drinks, so they make perfect sense to him at the time.

I don’t understand the moon’s comments in either the second panel or the final panel

The second strip (Jump Start) is also a CIDU: Doesn’t Jojo win the race if he runs into the tree before his friend gets there? A pyrrhic victory to be sure, but even so…
Cidu Bill on Oct 19th 2008
The final panel is the actual CIDU, but just as an aside… Isn’t it a given that members of a surgical team are supposed to perform flawlessly? Not really a big margin for error there…

Okay, is this like how doctors won’t treat patients who are members of their own families (or barbers not cutting their own hair)? Because seriously, if I were a plumber, I wouldn’t be paying somebody else hundreds of dollars to do something in my own home that I could quickly do myself.

She thinks veterinary means pertaining to veterans. Got it. But what’s the “wishy-washy” business in panel 3 all about?

This was in the queue for Wednesday; but then three people sent it to me almost simultaneously, so I decided to put it online right now.

Okay, I get the first panel. I get the second panel. I get Marcie’s comment in the third panel (Joe’s mom is a terrible driver); but what’s Joe’s mom talking about in that third panel?
