Forgive my ignorance (well, you’ve been doing that for more than 16 years now), but what’s the joke here? I mean yeah, Cliff Clavin from Cheers, and “Clavin” is Calvin is you’re mildly dyslexic, but… so?

Okay, here’s what I’ve always wondered: how did it get so firmly standardized that monkeys throw “poo,” rather than any other euphemism? Now granted there aren’t that many socially-acceptable euphemisms, but still… it’s always “monkeys” and “poo.” Nobody ever talks about “elephant poo,” after all, at least not as uniformly. Is it that simian excrement is somehow inherently cuter?

Ugly Christmas Sweater Synchronicity

It’s kind of tough to find real synchronicity in Christmas comics — but since I’d never seen Ugly Christmas Sweater Parties referenced in a comic before, and then saw two in one day…

And I’m not entirely grasping the second one: ugly Christmas-related characters sweating? Though Frosty (?) isn’t particularly ugly, is he? I mean for an anthropomorphized snowman.

And I’m wondering… how common are Ugly Sweater Parties anyway in the real world?
