Unusually warm temperatures at the North Pole are responsible for — or at least part of the weather system causing — the insane weather we’ve been having throughout most of the united States.
So the question is… does the cartoonist understand this, and the guy is saying that the polar bears are having a nice, balmy winter and we’re paying the price, is this just another (and a rather sloppy) “so much for global warming” gag, or is it simply “everybody is experiencing cold weather but at least the polar bears like it,” which actually isn’t the least bit funny?

Okay, personally… I found this amusing until I saw the “debt” caption in the snow. and that was just too much going on at once. If they’d just shown Obama trying to dig his way out of the snow (debt) without the elephant and his comments, that would have made a valid and timely point — but as it stands, there are two different cartoons here, pushing against one another.

I just realized that the ubiquitous and repetitive “obviously there’s no global warming because look how cold it is” gag is actually this year’s ubiquitous and repetitive chad gag — which is kind of funny when you consider that Al Gore is connected to both of them.
