Morris Keesan was wondering what Dean (of Dean’s Comic Booth) had in mind when he changed this
I really don’t know why Dad’s complaining, given the fact that the throw at least cleared that big window…

Speaking as somebody who might be shoveling at least five inches of snow today, I’m actually rather impressed.

Maybe I’m missing the whole concept of this comic strip: Are the Keane children supposed to be brain-damaged or something? Because seriously, kid, just put the damn thing back on. It’s not rocket science.
I keep thinking this kid’s going to grow up and write a comic strip with jokes revolving around a kid losing his bathing suit and forgetting how to put it back on.

Eh, not really a great bit of synchronicity, I guess. Though as long as I’m here, I was wondering… Do any west-coast parents let their younger kids watch the Times Square ball fall at 9pm local time, convince the young’uns that they’ve stayed up until midnight, and then herd them into bed?
Elyrest: Here’s one to throw into your New Year’s Eve Time Zone Synchronicity. It even deals with the ball falling in another time zone. The strip’s “Home and Away”

eeyore19: It would be one thing if the caption said “Mommy, what do the little stars and symbols mean?” The way it’s written has Dolly actually saying “# @ X*&!” (or at least trying to “spell” it out). To me, if she’s sounding it out loud, she’s actually asking “Mommy, what does ‘pound at X asterisk ampersand exclamation point’ spell?” It’s just really bothering me.

Of course for Billy the comics page is current events, but somehow I doubt Family Circus intended the joke to be that “meta.”

Yes, I know what many of you are going to say, but isn’t there supposed to be at least the pretence of a joke?

Most schools still have blackboards as well — but whether or not they do, the white slates are never called blackboards. They go by various names including… wait for it… whiteboards.Yes, I know, I’m commenting on the logic of a Family Circus comic.
