Molly J sent this to me with the comment that “I’m married to a Brit so I get to laugh at this.”

And honestly, I’d already downloaded it to the LOL folder.
But would an equivalent comic referencing another group’s perceived physical traits be equally acceptable in a mainstream comic? Or are cartoonists allowed to have their way with the English, the French, the Mormons and the Jehovah’s Witnesses, but not blacks, Asians, Jews and Arabs?
(For the sake of argument, let’s leave Johnny Hart out of the discussion: we all know he got away with racist, anti-Semitic and xenophobic crap all the time in his later years, even if we don’t entirely understand how)

Morris Keesan submitted this as an LOL, but it’s a CIDU to me:

The cartoon title is “Nomenclature” and the metatext is “[shouted, from the field] ‘Aunt Beast hit a pop fly to second! Dive for it, Mrs Whatsit!’”
Have I mentioned lately what an absolute pain in the ass XKCD is to upload as a CIDU?

And don’t worry: not only is everything queued up to go live properly while I’m away, if the plane goes down, you won’t even notice I’m gone until at least mid-June.

So the other day my wife and son looked at me in disbelief and said “You never heard of Etsy? Everybody’s heard of Etsy.”
It did sound vaguely familiar, though, and I realized it was because I had this queued up as a CIDU.
Now that I get it, it is kind of funny.
