It’s “officially” on sale today (click image for details). Please note that copies of the previous Arlo and Janis collection are now selling for something like a million dollars, so this is probably a good investment as well.

This isn’t coming out for another month, but I placed my order back in May. That probably doesn’t surprise anybody who’s heard me praise Frazz these past few years.

This one… maybe not. I’m a big fan of Zits (especially now that I have two teenage sons), and I own most of the books; but a special collection focusing on Jeremy’s friend Pierce? There’s a reason Fonzie didn’t have his own show: Some characters are best taken in small doses.

This is actually a fairly clever idea: The Zits cartoonists — or some flunkies at the publishing house — went through the run of the series and picked out a book’s worth of strips about Jeremy Duncan and his mother. It’s being advertised as a Mother’s Day gift and I’d be tempted to buy one myself, except my mother has zero interest in comic strips and I’m sure she’s still convinced reading them will rot my brain.(I think that ship has already sailed, Mom)
If this book is at all successful, by whatever sales standards constitute “successful” for a comic strip reprint book, I can certainly imagine Baby Blues, Jump Start, FBoFW and other strips jumping on the bandwagon in time for next year’s holiday.
