This Luann strip
was followed by this Shortpacked parody

Okay, it’s one thing — and a rather unsettling thing at that –when Jeremy’s Mom was shaking her stuff on the comics page; but I don’t know, I think the jiggle lines in today’s Luann was a bit of overkill. I mean dude… she’s 16…

A federal appeals court today threw out a $550,000 fine levied by the FCC against the CBS television network for showing the momentary exposure of most of Janet Jackson’s breast during the halftime show of the 2004 Super Bowl, saying the agency acted “acted arbitrarily and capriciously” and violated its own policy of only imposing fines when an offense is so “pervasive as to amount to ’shock treatment’ for the audience.” Apparently, an image that can only be seen by somebody with a TIVO does not count.
Incredibly enough, there’s still no mention of any punishment for Justin Timberlake for introducing the phrase “wardrobe malfunction” into the English language.
Nicole reminds me that Billo had a bit to say about this non-issue at the time…

Not a comic I didn’t understand, granted, but equally in need of explanation: I’m reading Jonathan Kellerman’s new crime novel, and he describes a woman as being in her early twenties, whatever-color hair, and that she has “optimistic breasts.”
Anybody want to take a guess at what this means?

Okay, to the best of my recollection, this is the first time I’ve seen breasts actually shaking about in a mainstream comic strip.Which actually sort of reminds me… What’s up with that commercial where Shakira’s dancing and her breasts are moving about in opposite directions, apparently independently from the rest of her body? Is that a learned skill, or are those things battery-powered?
