Seriously… there could be an interesting story behind DNA stains on a navy dress — but salsa on a blazer? What am I missing here?

At least here in New Jersey, two-hour waits are common; this was not only my experience, but was confirmed by the Verizon driver who came to pick up my modem and cable box after I dealt with two separate 3+ hour waits in the space of less than a week.

And here I thought once the strike ended, that would finally bring an end to the “characters can’t say anything today because of the Writer’s Guild of America strike” punchline. Silly me: The gag lives on, now justified by “ongoing effects of”.
What I never understood was… Do comic strip writers work in such a vacuum that they don’t know when a topical joke has already been used a dozen times over?
