This pair of strips, sent to me by Janice, will forevermore define what we mean by comic strip synchronicity…

It always seems so appropriate when we can give Jimmy Johnson the Arlo Award (even though, of course, it was named after Mr. Guthrie)
Actually, I’m not sure about the “I am,” comment, so I’m adding a CIDU tag.

On one hand, I don’t think this quite rises to Arlo Award level. On the other hand, I can’t think of a single humorous explanation that doesn’t involve naughty behavior.

The upside is, when I saw this comic earlier today, it reminded me to take the ground beef out of the freezer.

Mona: I would label it TMIDU Ewww?
Although, it is probably not worth the space it would take up on CIDU.
It appears to me that there is something, perhaps dogstuff or??? on the ground that, for some reason, is identified as stars - the Southern Cross - on Janis’s star-gazer app. Arlo looks disgusted and claims TMI (too much information).
Would an app confuse something on the ground with a constellation?
BTW, I was out in the country, far from city lights over the weekend, and was able to see a totally awesome shooting star during the Perseid meteor shower. I got up about 3am, went outside just in time to see the largest shooting star I’ve ever seen right over my head. Decided it couldn’t get any better than that and went back in to bed.
Irene: Submitting this one for my (slightly dyslexic) hubby, Tim, who at first thought this was an Arlo because Janice found TIM in the bushes.
We’re thinking maybe the app is saying that if they could see through the earth, they would see the Southern Cross looking in that direction. Other than that, we really don’t know.
Tim: Don’t you look at that “Comics-that-need-explaining” blog?
Me: You mean Comics I Don’t Understand?
Tim: Yeah. That. Look up Arlo and Janice for today.
Me: It doesn’t work that fast. People submit them, and he picks.
Tim: Well, look at that one. Oh. Never mind. It says TMI, not TIM. I thought they caught us.

Because seriously, there was never in my memory time when it was done well.
Or is the joke that Arlo is just a cranky old man (”In my day…”)?
