More a question than a CIDU…

No politics here, please, just…

Am I correct in assuming that the Smith and Jones homes are just generic, not referring to any actual strips?

Not just “Smith” and “Jones”, but the barfing pumpkin between them has been used so often that it is fairly “generic” as well.

P.S. The girl is known to favor a liberal stance, whereas her father is patently conservative.

Pretty impressive, getting those stars to suspend in the carved space on the elephant’s back.

The stars are suspended because that pumpkin is using the half-carve-through technique, where you don’t cut all the way through the pumpkin shell. You can tell because the background of the elephant is a darker, orangier shade than the cutaways in the other pumpkins.

I had the same thought. My daughter wanted to carve the logo from “Hamilton” on her pumpkin, which according to the pictures accompanying the template have the space between his legs defined by a levitating piece of pumpkin shell. I considered using the half-carve method JHGRedekop mentioned, but the picture clearly shows the pumpkin shell so we used toothpicks to suspend the shell.

Actually, she carved the perfect pumpkin.
    She sees it as scary.
Her father will see it as promoting his party.
    Win win.
