Eggs and muffins, a hearty start to the day.

I think Pop’n there represents biscuits, not muffins. But yeah.

It’s original. I kind of like it. It’s not … funny … per se, but it is unique twist rather than the usual wisescrack sarcasm.

I mean the usual joke you’d expect would be he’d have a bunch of hapless humans crammed into an egg cartons (ha, ha, he eats people as though they were eggs… yawn) … but this turns it a around. He eats eggs and biscuits as though they were people It’s almost …. cute…. actually.

That’s not the joke at all. Humpty Dumpty and Poppinfresh are people. They’re people in the form of anthropomorphic food, but they are people.

If it were only Humpty, I’d be wondering if there was a connection to the “egg sucking” expression.

Throw in the Piggly Wiggly logo character and Elsie from Borden and you’ve got something. An egg and biscuit; you call that breakfast? (yeah, it’s an old joke)

Any day you see Poppinfresh killed is a good day.

“Humpty Dumpty and Poppinfresh are people.”

Pop’n Fresh is “people”? Maybe. Definitely not human, but in a broad sense, the way corporations are people, maybe.
It’d be a busy drawing, but maybe he should have added Snap, Crackle, and Pop as part of a complete breakfast (Piggly-Wiggly isn’t a national brand).

I wonder whether vampires are subject to gluten and/or salmonella poisoning.

Poppinfresh is a dough golem. He has no flowing liquid inside. But Humpty-Dumpty makes sense in that context, he’s never been a hard-boiled guy.
