By George!

I’m old enough that this hardly seems like a geezer reference.

What the actual joke is, on the other hand, stumps me.

He could’ve saved 15% or more on car insurance…

You added the “Geezers” tag, so you recognize the Boy George song lyric. What there to Not Understand? It’s a lame pun.

I never understood the words when it was on the radio. The closest I came was “Comma, comma, comma, comma, comma comedian!”, not that that makes any sense. So, if my reading were right, this comic would have a stand-up using lots of commas?

The words were “karma [repeated] chameleon”. This dragonfly was
    singing it and karma intervened.

I hate the way the panels are separated. At first I thought it was one scene with a diagonal spider web or something, and it took me a minute to sort it all out.

Carl, understanding the reference and understanding what’s supposed to be funny about it are often two different things.

Carl and Arthur got it. Geezer reference to the Culture Club song. “Karma Cameleon” it is.

The song reference is funny because people who sing way, way overplayed pop songs in public deserve whatever bad things happen to them

There’s also the irony of karma intervening in the form of a

It’s funny because the dragonfly got killed.

  13. Carl Jul 9th 2017 at 06:38 am 13

Bill, I don’t think there is anything funny there. Just the lame pun.

Pun? What pun? It’s simple coincidence. The dragonfly is singing a song and interrupted by a chameleon just before he gets to the “chameleon” lyric.

Insect seems to be colored red, gold, and green.

Yeah, good catch. And speaking of coloration, shouldn’t the chameleon be sky blue??
