I think it’s a rant. We all know what bears do in the woods. Does this mean they do the same in customer service?

Yeah, the function of call centers isn’t to provide customer service as claimed, but rather to provide an additional layer of barrier against customers contacting corporations.

I think either the bear scares away complaining customers, which is good for the metrics, or eats them.

But perhaps he’s good at BEARing the endless complaining.

The bear is burned out by a job in a call center. This is not exactly unusual, except for the “he’s a bear” part. The managers of call centers are always trying to talk someone into not leaving, because the one major expense of operating a call center is training the new employees.

They’re so desperate to retain employees, they’ll even try to hold onto a trained bear.

It’s a sloth, not a bear. In the movie “Zootopia” sloths ran the DMV.

That’s not a sloth. Or rather, if that IS a sloth, he’s had his ears docked and his nails done.

Scott [3] jibes with my take on it, but I do agree with Bob [2].

Sorry, yellojkt [6], but James [7] is right.

Well, I suppose it could be a reference to the Chuck Jones / Frank Tashlin cartoon “The Bear That Wasn’t”.

A bear comes out of hibernation to find that a factory complex has been built around him. He is mistaken for an employee and is unable to prove his actual identity.

    It’s a very obscure film.

I thought it was a huge rat?

    It’s a sloth bear.
