I think the same guy as the other one, only during that time when he was using a wordless symbol for his stage name.

    Finger Prince expert. Groa-oa-oa-oan!

Came here to make an Animaniacs joke, but I see jayjaybear has that covered.

Bob got it at #1… They are both Prince, just with different guitars.

Is this a court-appointed fingerprince expert? Don’t the lawyers for each side usually bring their own experts? So who did this guy ask for an expert and why didn’t he take care of it himself? Is he just a bad lawyer? Or is this happening in another country where expert witnesses are provided by the court?

Okay anyway I thought it was pretty funny. Also, nice job drawing puppets that small that are still clearly identifiable as Prince.

Well, then technically the one on the left is just The Artist Formerly Knows As Prince

I recognized the guitars. The one on the left is the “symbol guitar” (the original was custom built by German luthier Jerry Auerswald) and the one on the right is one of the four “cloud guitars” that were custom built by David Husain. One of the clouds (the yellow one) is in the Smithsonian.

@6, while The Artist Formerly Known as the Artist Formerly Known As Prince no longer plays cloud guitars, he does still play copies of the symbol guitar, so they both could be Prince.

A third finger puppet would likely be playing a Hohner telecaster copy….

Would it be too Arlo for that to be his infamous sperm-cell-shaped guitar on the right?

Oops. My bad. Maybe I read too much into the shape of those guitars. Considering the carefully-crafted image of the guitarist, though…

The “fingerprince” expert looks like a grown-up version of some (very old) comic strip/book character. My brain keeps whispering “Harvey Comics”…a fat little redheaded boy in an old short-pants suit, but I can’t find anything on Google that matches.

Isn’t an expert on symbols a ‘cryptographer’? They’ve got the wrong guy in a number of ways.

    Cidu Bill (@6):
Since he now goes by “Prince” once more, technically the one on the
left is The Artist Formerly Known As Prince And Once Again Known As Prince.

  15. Cidu Bill Feb 7th 2013 at 01:55 am 15

I always understood it to be The Artist Formerly Known as the Artist Formerly Known as Prince.

I stuck with “that purple guy”, but then again, not a fan.

@ Bob in Nashville: Prince is known for having weird-shaped guitars.

@ James Pollock: Someone I know once called Prince “a toothpick wrapped in cellophane”.

@ the comic strip artist: Did you really have to draw TWO finger puppets? The joke still works with only one …

A person with only one fingerprince could hardly be considered an expert.
