A few notes about sending me comics

Cidu Bill on Jan 4th 2013

  • If you’re sending me a comic, the address is comicsidontunderstand at gmail. It’s best if you send both the comic and a link to the comic, since sometimes links don’t work and sometimes graphics don’t make it through.
  • I ignore nothing, but I don’t always deal with my e-mail in a timely manner. I’m not even going to go through the motions of a New Year’s resolution over that.
  • What’s worse, I’ve been coming across comics I’ve been sent that I’d saved in unlikely folders. Maybe this is the computer-age equivalent of absentmindedly putting away the ketchup in the microwave.
  • If you sent me something that was “out of season” by the time I saw it, I definitely apologize, and I’ll probably hold it back until it’s once again appropriate. This is my shout-out to the person who sent me a Christmas LOL that won’t show up here for another 11 months.
  • If you send me something and you don’t want your full name used, sign the e-mail with your first name, or the nickname you commonly use here. Or if you want to be absolutely sure, just add “Call me Bob.” Please don’t expect me to remember from a previous time, because I’m lucky if I remember my own kids’ names.
  • And if you’re new here, the FAQ is your friend.

Okay, I know this is stupid, but how do you include the comic in an email? As an attachment? That seems likely to put you at some risk.

    Thanks.

Chak, if you send me an attachment called Arlo010412.jpg, I’ll take my chances. If WidowOfFormerPresident@nigeria.com sends me a file called openme.xxx, maybe not. It’s all about judgment.

Anyway, I try the link first because it’s usually easier.

Maybe the absent-mindedness that puts ketchup away in the microwave is to blame, but the several comics I’ve sent during the last few years haven’t made it on this site.

I keep wondering if my e-mail address is being filtered out for some reason.

    Anyway…

On Thursday, November 29, 2012 I found a “Donut Synchronicity.” I e-mailed CIDU Bill about it (sending the comics and their links), but I didn’t hear back about it.

So I’m posting the links here, in hopes that they may still be enjoyed:

If I wanted to be anonymous, I sure wouldn’t say “Call me Bob”! :-)

Please open and read attach Comic I Not Understand. It explain how you help me move sixty five million dollars out of my country.

@ CIDU Bill - The CIDU FAQ just showed up in the RSS feed today, but the link was broken, as is the FAQ link listed on this page: http://comicsidontunderstand.com/wordpress/2008/01/01/cidu’s-and-don’ts-the-faq/

Where is the CIDU FAQ now?

P.S. Perhaps the apostrophes are busting the link, since they seem to defeat Wordpress’s auto linking feature.

The FAQ link in the left-hand column (currently under the March of Dimes logo) will always be current.

I’ve also corrected it in the above post; but if you’re reading that post a year from now, it might not be correct.
