    The horse is whispering because’s he’s a horse whisperer (that is, a whisperer who happens to be a horse).

    It’s easy to see how such an animal could make that mistake.

    All homonyms aside, the “horse whisperer” could refer to a person who whispers to horses, or a horse that happens to whisper. It’s kind of ambiguous that way.

    Just like the term “dog catcher” could refer to someone who apprehends dogs, or a player on an all-canine baseball team.

    It’s actually a little deeper than has been said. The horse happens to be horse as well, that’s why he was looking for an equine healer. So the horse horse was looking for a horse whisperer as opposed to a horse whisperer.
