Isn’t the reaper a little “late” if the fish is already dead?

Lio is one of my favorite comic strips, but I’ve only ever saved two for easy future reference. This is the second.

Can’t get any bars? Doesn’t sound like Heaven to me …

  4. Kilby Dec 10th 2012 at 04:49 am 4

I liked all of these except for SMBC. The ironic element is that the reason I didn’t think that SMBC was funny is that I agree wholeheartedly with its thesis. I find it extremely annoying that virtually every NASA mission is publicized as some sort of hunt for extraterrestrial life. Unfortunately, the general public has no interest in basic scientific research, so NASA is forced to justify its budget by concentrating on an irrelevant search for any shred of evidence that might get them a little bit of extra air time or tabloid column inches.

+1 for Kilby’s take on SMBC and NASA.

I liked this Lio! (The exclamation is because I rarely do. I think I’m not wired well for silent gags.) The miniature reaper and the net instead of scythe are just right.

I doubt NASA is at all upset about looking for life on Mars. They’re doing it for very good scientific reasons.

    Oh, and…

someone has to say it. There must have been some magic in that old brassiere they found.

A hat with a flower just wasn’t enough to make Louie feel pretty.

Louie the Cross-Dressing Snowman was a Christmas special just a little ahead of its time.

    Louie, Louie, oh no
Me gotta go . . . lingerie shopping.

“There must have been some magic in that old brassiere they found.”

Powers - I laughed more at this than any of the comics. I could hear the tune running through my head as I read the words.

Best LOL page in a while.

I think the OTM would have been funnier if the second snowman was *only* wearing a brassiere.

re: LIO. Sir Terry Pratchett, author of The DiscWorld books, posits that all forms of life have their own ‘reaper’, thus there is a ‘Death of Rats’, ‘Death of Cats’, etc. Many are presented in REAPER MAN. See also http://wiki.lspace.org/mediawiki/index.php/Death_of_Rats

LOL at WiFi in the after-life. Is Hell password-protected? Or Heaven, for that matter?

  14. Boise Ed Dec 10th 2012 at 06:03 pm 14

MollyJ: maybe it’s still just comatose.

    Powers: sounds good.

Keera: One is enjoying the uninterrupted signal and the other has to configure and maintain the router.

Molly J #11 - then it might be a snowgirl.

  17. Proginoskes Dec 11th 2012 at 03:36 am 17

@ ANDREA (12): Do reapers have reapers?

  18. Keera Dec 11th 2012 at 04:19 pm 18

LOL, Boise Ed! Same as in life. :-D
