Okay, and now I’m reminded of the old David Steinberg story: God lets Lot and his family escape for Sodom and Gamorrah, and he warns Lot “Whatever you do, don’t look back!”

So they begin to walk and Lot’s wife says [in a whiney voice] “Lot… we should have stayed. It was fun there.”

Lot continues to walk.

Lot’s wife says “Lot… you have to be more aggressive with God. You can’t always be so passive.”

Lot continues to walk.

Lot’s wife says “Lot…”

And Lot says “Dear, God told me to tell you to look back.”

“Oh, sorry,” he wrote me last week, finally responding to one of my messages telling him he was giving out my email address as his. “I’ll let everybody know my correct address”

Yesterday, one of his clients e-mailed me expressing concern that he couldn’t reach Bill by phone. I wrote back that he’d probably given him somebody else’s phone number. Because he’s an idiot.

And this afternoon Bill sent a client some sensitive financial information, cc’ing… me.

I wrote back to him asking him — rhetorically — how stupid he was, that he’s still unable to use e-mail properly. And cc’ed the client.

No more Mister Nice Bill.

Without “I like it,” this makes perfect sense. With it, I don’t see any non-Arlo interpretation, and then the third panel doesn’t really make sense.

It’s been 45 years since the final episode of The Fugitive aired (45 years?? Holy crap!), and I will go out on a limb and say that no television program before or since has had a greater final scene (though the second Newhart series comes close). I’m not talking about a final episode, mind you (though The Fugitive’s final episode as a whole was pretty damn good as well), but the very final scene: Kimble leaving the courtroom, Bob waking up.

I am, of course, open to opposing opinions…
