A question mostly for the ladies: If you see a man standing around in a city park with a handwritten sign that says “Free Massages,” is your first reaction going to be “Hell, yeah”?

Is it from the Swedish Prime Minister?

  2. Kilby Jul 29th 2010 at 02:25 pm 2

Just who is giving a massage to whom?

  3. Tullia Jul 29th 2010 at 02:36 pm 3

No. Though his being on the other side of a sturdy handrail helps some.

    More like “Hell, no!”

  6. Karen Jul 29th 2010 at 03:36 pm 6

More like, “Get the hell away from me, freak!”

  7. apricoco Jul 29th 2010 at 03:38 pm 7

    Oh. Hell. No.

Seriously, who would let some random guy in the park give them a massage?

  8. Julie Jul 29th 2010 at 03:41 pm 8

    Never, ever, ever!
What does the bottom of the sign say?

  9. Kamino Neko Jul 29th 2010 at 04:49 pm 9

I think it says ‘Giggity giggity goo’.

  10. Keera Jul 29th 2010 at 05:01 pm 10

Depends. If some dishy Norwegian guy in a public area has a sign out like that, I have to assume he’s the groom-to-be, and I just might go along. ;-) Bachelor/-ettes parties are pretty wild around here.

(Julie @8, bottom of sign says “massages”.)

I might let him, depending on the vibe I get from him and whether there are lots of other people around. But then, I’m pushing sixty and fat. :-)

I think if I was a young and pretty thing and I saw him giving someone a massage who was pushing sixty and fat, I might be more inclined to let him give me one.

    IOW, it all depends.

There’s a 1-year massage program at our local community college, and the students are required to administer a large number of hours of massages in practice. The ones I’ve known have just called up family & friends - most people don’t turn down a massage from someone known to be a student. I suppose the bottom of this guy’s sign might say he’s a student trying to fulfill his class requirements. Still…kinda creepy.

So I’ve got this persistent soreness and tiredness in my calves, lower leg muscles. Any of you massage buffs want to help me out?

  14. turquoise cow Jul 29th 2010 at 07:18 pm 14

I want to say “no,” but if I was really aching…

  15. furrykef Jul 29th 2010 at 08:30 pm 15

Keera - no, the very bottom of the sign. There’s a line of text that’s illegible at the size and angle.

  16. Kaitlyn Jul 29th 2010 at 09:59 pm 16

    No.

In fact (depending on if I live in an area that’s relatively crime free so they’d have time to care), I’d call my local precinct so they know, because it’s effing creepy. (not 911)

Though not too bad, because he doesn’t come up and massage you.

Maybe it’s performance art, and she’s in on the joke too.

I can only read part of the bottom line, but it appears to say “Free Massages Take [or Takes] About …” The last 2 words are *very* illegible. Sure wish I had that CSI magic software, instead of just poor ol’ Adobe Elements. :)

Heck, I’m squeamish enough about paying a nice certified massage therapist to massage me at a day spa, there’s no way any stranger’s pawing at me! I get the heebie jeebies if a stranger innocently touches my arm to get my attention! Yikes!

I blew up the very bottom of the sign and was able to make it out: freemassagelantons2@yahoo.com.

Which presumably means there’s at least one other guy named Lantons who’s offering free massages.

Apparently, it’s a thin line between a massage and dry humping.

  22. Rainey Jul 30th 2010 at 08:13 am 22

Could this be a cover for pick pocketing?

Okay. It’s not a ‘toon, and probably wasn’t intended to be funny (more of an ewww, I’d guess). But thanks to Sarah (20) and Proginoskes (23) I’ve gotten 2 good laughs from this one. Keep up the good works… :-)

Here is a web site where the person has spent years studying all the different hangers on in Union Square in New York City. Its’ a fascinating study of human behavior.

Remember, humans in the wild are not always civilized, don’t go to this site and then gripe at me - I warned you.

Gee, I thought he was just standing there, as he is not touching her and is behind a rail, and that she was setting up an offering the massage.
