Sunday Afternoon Seussian Arlol

Nicole: I don’t know if Theodor Geisel would have approved of this comic — but I like to think he would have.

I like my chunk gunk. I keep it in a trunk.

    “Vivisection of my erection”?
I would choose to revisit this selection
    and perhaps, even the election
of a doctor with a different predilection.

    _Wasn’t_ Seuss an M.D.?

I don’t think so. He was a candidate for a Doctorate in English Literature at Oxford, but did not complete his degree. As far as I know he never studied medicine.

@ 3, 4, 5 - Theodor Seuss Geisel was already using the pseudonym “Dr. Seuss” for the political cartoons he drew from 1941 to 1943. See “Dr. Seuss Went to War” in the Mandeville Special Collections Library at UCSD: http://libraries.ucsd.edu/locations/mscl/collections/the-dr-seuss-collection.html

These particular rhymes are not especially Seussian. Contrary to popular belief, he didn’t just toss words together that happened to rhyme.

    Party Pooper…

He could have called it “monkey junk.” Another lost opportunity.

Sounds more like Danny Kaye to me. “The pellet with the poison’s in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true.”
