I’m pretty sure the cornflakes joke has been done many times before. I think the Topps Wacky Packages did it back in the 70s. And in Raymond Briggs’ Fungus the Bogeyman they eat flaked corns for breakfast.
And I’d say that the Brylcreem of Wheat earns that comic a geezer tag. Do they even make the stuff anymore? Isn’t hair gel in general out again?

If everybody thinks Leno is bland, why do people still watch him?

DemetriosX@1,
Brylcream is still around, so is Vitalis.

A little dab’ll do ya

Furrykef — not that many people do.

As for Brylcream, Vitalis and hair gel - lots of people use them. Hair gel especially - how do you think all those stars get that “I look like I just got up” look.

Why would she place a feces-smeared child into the tub with another child? Why not at least wipe the child off a bit first? I find this comic to be more disusting than the other two, though the Hoff’s chest hairs over a cereal bowl is a bit distasteful.

ftc - Wet-naps were prominently displayed when Marcy was removing the diaper the previous day.

Then there are some real cereals for specialized markets:
Trix, for ladies of the evening.
Froot Loops, don’t ask don’t tell.
Apple Jacks, for cows who don’t want any more calves. (Original slogan: A bowl a day keeps the bullies away.)
BroBoCop Jul 24th 2010 at 02:58 pm 10
I’d like to submit Mark’s Apple Jacks comment as a CIDU, please. Am I just naive, or am I missing something?
Kamino Neko Jul 24th 2010 at 04:05 pm 11
‘A bowl a day keeps the bullies away’ actually WAS Apple Jacks’ slogan in the 60s and 70s.
And, of course, a cow who doesn’t want any more calves would want to keep the bulls away. (Or, really, she’d want to keep the FARMERS away…I don’t think anyone does natural impregnation for livestock any more…)

Neko-
The natural way is still quite common.

@furrykef: Maybe they watch him *because* he’s bland. After all, it’s late at night, you’re in bed, got the TV on– something clever is just going to keep you from falling asleep. Mildly amusing and noncontroversial may be just the ticket. Is Leno the warm milk of Late Night?
(Actually, I haven’t seen Leno in years, so I’m just riffing on his reputation.)
BroBoCop Jul 24th 2010 at 10:28 pm 14
Ahhh, thx Neko.

Powers — that sure isn’t what NBC thought a while back.
Powers Jul 25th 2010 at 08:26 am 16
I know, but the ratings haven’t borne out their aspirations.

We have a laundry chute on the top floor of the house that sends clothes down to the laundry are in the basement. That chute is next to the bathroom. Our 8-year-old son was warned not to drink too much water before bed. He didn’t obey. We were awoken by the sound of him trying to hold the laundry chute door open so he could pee down it. He was barely awake.

In the strip the day before she was complaining that she has 4 children and none of them were as bad (at potty in the diaper) as him and had been trying to clean him up. The 2 children are twins and despite the fact that they are “talking” they are babies and only “talk” to each other.
