Keera: Mostly LOL, a bit eww. There are so many fun details in this! It had me laughing several times. “Soylent Green flavor” made me go “eww!”

For anyone who didn’t catch it - due to not growing up in the right era, not growing up in the right country, or just having parents with taste…this, Dave (posted here a little while ago), and the others from that week were clear tributes to Wacky Packages - right down to copying the card layout.

I had (and maybe still have at my parents’ house) a clipboard covered with the entire 1973 set. I loved those.

Thanks for the brain nudge, Kamino. I thought I had seen the style somewhere but couldn’t place it.

I have an uncut sheet of Wacky Packages stickers. I collected them when they were first released and still think they are pretty funny. “Chock Full of Nuts and Bolts”, “Logg’s”, “Crust”, “Tied”, and so on. Awesome stuff!

Thanks to this discussion I discovered that a coffee table book of the first seven series was released in the last few years. From the reviews I gather that many of them are from high quality color separations.

Thanks, Kamino for the reminder of Wacky Packages. I hadn’t connected the comics with them till you pointed it out. I never had them when I was a kid, but my brothers did so I saw most of them at one time or another.

George P - They made a coffee table book of these? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. There is a market for most anything.
