My sister didn’t get her first tattoo (that I know of) until she was nearly forty with a grown daughter (who already had a tattoo).

I think it’s because the things that seem cool to us as teens or twentysomethings aren’t as cool when we’re, say, fiftysomething. Sure, Winnie-the-Pooh is awesome, but you might feel differently about him when you’re older.

You might wear a Goofy t-shirt when you’re 21, but perhaps you’d be less likely to do so at 61.

OK, mkilby, that explains why you would regret getting these tattoos (under the unstated assumption that these were Disney tattoos, and not line drawings from the original books). I’m still not getting why she would be more likely to regret getting these tattoos than any other tattoos.
