But every channel has become a lame reality channel.

Someone made an Adam Lambert joke yesterday that I got, even though I’ve never watched American Idol, and I haven’t discussed it with anyone, and I don’t watch any programs or read any magazines or frequent any Web sites where this kind of thing is discussed. Our culture is so saturated with this stuff that it’s unavoidable.

I have no idea what John and Kate look like, but I had heard of the show and that they broke up.

@elyrest I haven’t heard TLC called “The Learning Channel” in quite some time. I suppose they changed it to avoid being sued for false advertisement. I’m waiting for The History Channel to do the same, because I haven’t yet figured out how Ice Road Truckers relates at all to History.

IMO, all these channels should just be called “The Lame Reality Show Channel.”

Pete - You are very lucky. They are from a reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ that aired on TLC (The Learning Channel) here in the US. The show was about a (now ex) couple who have eight children - twins and sextuplets. You are very lucky that you don’t know who they are. I am embarrassed that I know this much as I have NEVER watched the show, but they have been all over the media and almost impossible to avoid.

We will now say a short prayer for TLC which (along with Bravo and A&E) used to be good channels.

In the first panel, the mantis looks like he’s praying. In the second, he opens his eyes and drops his arms to talk to Ralph, but then resumes the praying position in the third panel. You can guess what the mantis is really praying about.

Simple, really. He wants at least ONE of his prayers to be answered, and the others seem…unlikely. So with this one, he gets to not bat 0.000.

Also, consider how mantis relationships tend to go, and you can see how he might be interested in seeing more of J&K….

This comic was from several moths back when J&K were getting WAY too much press time so the mantis is being facetious at best.
