Outre Hair

I was re-reading the always-entertaining Out There comic from the beginning last night, and when I came to this one

I couldn’t help thinking… How do you criticize somebody else’s haircut when you look like Moon Maid’s daughter?

Aww - I loved the whole Moon Maid and Junior storyline. It seemed to be perfect for the times. Thanks for reminding me. And yeah, how bad could his hair look in comparison.

Isn’t that what’s funny, that they both have silly hair now?

I don’t know this comic strip, but just seeing this one, it doesn’t look like she is criticizing “I think, now, that your hair is/was bad” but rather gently teasing “despite your (so called) bad hair I, at the time, saw (other) good traits in you, so we became a couple”.
(are they a couple?)

Yes, they’re married.
And this is a strip I definitely recommend reading from the beginning.

I love this strip and I learned about it here at CIDU. Another reason to thank Mr. Bill.

She’s at home. She’s been cleaning the basement. This is not an actual hairdo; it’s her with her hair pulled & pinned out of the way, the equivalent of putting a rag on your head. Or perhaps it’s the equivalent, for her hair, of wearing curlers while working around the house.
