    Ooooookaaaaay . . . .
Did he pull a rat out of a habit? Or . . . . Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!

  2. furrykef Feb 7th 2010 at 12:26 am 2

    It’s a spoonerism joke. It’s definitely “a habit out of a rat”.

  3. Charlene Feb 7th 2010 at 12:29 am 3

Or a rat out of a habit?

  4. PeterW Feb 7th 2010 at 12:51 am 4

Oh wait. It’s definitely habit out of a rat, not rat out of a habit. Eew.

The true story of what happened to Jason Todd, at last. That nonsense about the Joker was never really believable….

The habit doesn’t look as crumpled and, well, dirty as it would be if it had just been extracted from the rat. So I’m taking it as the other way ’round.

(Though I suppose if it’s actually magic rather than prestidigitation, the habit could be magically cleaned and pressed.)

Is it just me, or is that habit AWFULLY short? That would be exposing a LOT of nun-leg!!!

  8. Rachael Feb 7th 2010 at 11:36 am 8

    @mitch-4 :
Yay! You used PRESTIDIGITATION! that’s my favorite word! none of my friends know it! thank you! (and yes, i’m creepy and psycho. i already know that) :)

And what’s your take on legerdemain?

  10. Winter Wallaby Feb 7th 2010 at 12:45 pm 10

mitch-4, if it was a rat out of a habit, there would be no reason for the audience to react with “horrified silence.” Yawns, maybe, but why would they be horrified?

  11. mitch4 Feb 7th 2010 at 01:09 pm 11

Good point, Winter, but I’m still not entirely sold. The audience reaction could just be from their dislike of rats.

Can someone explain the Superman/Batman one? Why is he covered in blood? That is blood, right?

  13. ShireNomad Feb 8th 2010 at 01:46 am 13

Lola: Man of Steel, Sidekick of Kleenex.

  14. Kamino Neko Feb 8th 2010 at 02:04 am 14

To expand…he noogied a sidekick (presumably a Robin, since Batman goes through them like he does underpants), but since he’s superstrong, he kind of popped the kid’s head like a grape.

OK…both of these are definitely LOLEWWWWWWs!

  16. RobynS8971 Feb 8th 2010 at 04:12 pm 16

Noogies of Steel is not that far fetched, my oldest gave his bro a noogie and it brought on an immediate and long lasting nose bleed, so long I was ready to call 911…doctor was fascinated by the event.

For those who didn’t get the reference, ShireNomad (13) is playing on an essay called “Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex” (by Larry Niven, I think). It is extremely hilarious, and also very, very “eewwww”. Don’t say that I did not warn you.

I think Clark would know his strength well enough not to do permanent harm to Robin. Unless Bruce took this opportunity to tell Clark about the time he dated Lois. She’s dated Green Arrow and Aquaman, why not Batman too? (Smallville joke.)
