Elyrest sent me this as an LOL. And it is funny, but… I understand the whole everybody-hates-mimes thing (most memorably expressed in Die Hard 3), but what’s the joke here other than “mimes are bad”? Is there significance to a mime cop? And for that matter, wouldn’t a mime be a pretty ineffective interrogator?

I guess that would make him a “bad cop,” but in an entirely different sense.

A very useful NPR segment that aired Thursday.

By the way, a couple of weeks ago after I mentioned not making any money from the CIDU site, some of you sent donations. And thank you for that, though of course that isn’t why I’d brought it up. Just for the record, I transferred the money to a local group collecting money for Haiti, so those donations did double duty: showed you appreciate the CIDU site, and (hopefully) will help some of the earthquake victims.
