I heard that as well, Morris -- but with the exception of Alan Moore, they always say they like the movie, so I generally take that with a grain of salt.

And on the offchance he was sincere about that, and still feels that way -- and maybe he simply likes every production of everything that uses his music -- well, that doesn't make the film any less a piece of crap.

I always thought that Tony Sirico as Paulie in the Sopranos looked like he had Dagwood's hair.

Dagwood's shirt button doesn't make sense either. But I heard that Chic Young gave him his shirt button because it was faster to draw one big button than four small buttons.

Didn't we have a CIDU here a few years ago where the discussion was exacerbated because some had never heard of the expression "cowlick "? I can't locate a comic in the search, but I seem to remember that some interpreted the expression literally, similar to the character in the BC comic. It might have even an Ewww! because somebody thought it actually implied "licking a cow", as opposed to being "licked *by* a cow".

I know I read this sentiment somewhere and I could have sworn it was mentioned in the context of a comic, but I supposed it could have been somewhere else.

I've always wondered why Dagwood keeps going to the barber so often when he always looks exactly the same coming out. Between that and Blondie's spending binges at Tudbury's he's got to be on the brink of financial ruin. Maybe when the Young family gets tired of the gig they'll just let Dagwood snap...

turquoise cow -- Cowlicks can be anywhere, from my understanding. My cowlicks were always on the side of my head. I've never heard of it just being on the top.

The Blondie comic is a CIDU for me, though. Is the fact that they'll grow back supposed to be a joke?

As for cutthroat barbers, there's always the unnamed barber in "The Lumberjack Sketch" from Monty Python.
