Chair

Janice Rey: I don’t get why Dilbert yells “chair!” Or maybe I do - are the focus group participants throwing a chair at the observation window?

I would assume so… but it would make more sense if he were ducking, or shielding his head with his arms.

Yes, they are throwing a chair to break the glass and “storm in the observation room”

I’ve been “behind the glass” at many focus groups. It’s doubtful a participant would be bright enough to use a chair as a weapon… they would much more likely try to eat it.

I figured this one would be here today. And yes, they are throwing the chair at the window.

Either that or he’s trying to be runner up for “exclamation of the week.”

Yep, Incoming Chair. Dilbert’s tie has assumed the Defensive Shield Pose, so he doesn’t need his arms.

Well, a chair being used as a weapon, anyway. When I read it, I immediately connected it to the “GUN” alert used in cop shows.

I’m late to this one, but yes, that is definitely what’s happening here. I run software usability studies for a living, and I’ve seen a participant become so frustrated that he did begin angrily pounding on the two-way mirror. So, this one wasn’t so much a CIDU for me as a “been there, done that”.
