He's in his 80's and always wants to get it over with. The only problem with it as I see it is that he often clears snow that would have melted in a few hours. If it doesn't though he is way ahead. One time back in the 1980's when I lived in western NY we had a bad snow and didn't shovel around our cars for a few days - just enough to get out. Then it rained on the 2-3 feet of snow. Then it froze. For months I could barely get in and out of my car when it was in my driveway. My Dad lives to go out and blow snow. He’s in his 80’s and always wants to get it over with. Not an LOL by any means, but funny in the [Homer Simpson voice] "It's funny because it's true" way. For the last big storm I remember looking at all my fellow teacher friends' posts on Facebook to the effect of "Yeah! No School!" All I could think was: You all may appreciate the day off, but I'd rather spend the day teaching (a job I enjoy) than breaking my back shoveling snow all day. The snowstorm didn't actually impact my life in any way, except that I was angry that it happened on a weekend so I didn't get to miss any work. You can guess I'm a big proponent of living in apartments or condos, despite and/or because I grew up on a farm in the country.
