I seem to remember reading that the real Victoria was fond of cards (Edward VII even more so) and even asked some American guests to teach her this “poker” she’d heard about. I wish I could dig up the reference.

I grew up in Las Vegas. One of my old high school friends is a salesperson for a company that sells gambling games based on popular children’s games to casinos. So it is indeed possible to gamble in Vegas at Monopoly, though I’m not sure about this “Happy Families” game.

Reminds me of a bit on the Super Mario Bros. Super Show cartoon, where Mario and Luigi were in disguise, gambling with the bad guys. They were seated around a table, with a very big pile of coins in the middle…

Victoria is the star of the comic, and really quite batty.

There was an arc a week or two ago where she spent the entire time torturing her Sims in The Sims 3 (much to Prince Edward’s dismay.)

And gambling on Happy Families is funny.
