Possibly-apocryphal story about one of the Presidents of the United States in the first half of the 20th century:

President, making speech: “And we must not forget that the farmer’s best friend is manure! Manure, manure, and more manure!”

Friend of First Lady, in audience, aside to First Lady: “For heaven’s sake, can’t you get your husband to stop saying ‘manure’?”

First Lady: “It took me long enough to get him to say ‘manure’.”
