Running joke. If you check out the comics over the last couple of weeks, you’ll see that Sophie (the dog) has been contemplating world domination through the creation of an army of cyborg babies.
Dog is trying to take over the world. Dog and Doug watched a show on the Discovery channel about Cyborgs, and I think Dog is trying to turn Doug into a Cyborg, but since Mom took Doug away, Dog isn’t giving up any part of the world to Mom.
Basically the running joke was that the dog had come up with the plan that if you set a baby inside of a vacuum cleaner, they would merge into an unstoppable robot soldier. Then he would use this robot soldier to take over the world. Then after he took over the world, he would give Australia to his mom.
Carl - actually, the second Superman movie, when the evil Kryptonians arrive. He offered the location of Superman’s ‘fortress of solitude’ in exchange for Australia.

It’s a good strip. I recommend it.

Justin and Kara have it - baby cyborgs and world domination. Doug, the baby never “speaks”, but Sophie, the dog, has a very active imagination.

I sporadically follow it (if I eat lunch in the lunchroom at work, I read it) so I forgot the dog’s name. Sophie! That’s it.
It is a fun strip.

Looks like Dr. Horrible got there first:
And she may cry but her tears will dry
When I hand her the keys to a shiny new Australia

Aaron, it goes back to Lex Luthor in the first Christopher Reeves Superman movie, doesn’t it?
