every time I come to comment, I have that great minds think alike sensation….as well as the mad minds think alike and not so great ones and several other categories.
happened first today on the rape comic, noting that it was Betty, after Archie’s final choice was made public, she clearly hit the skids, and now, I too thought this was a marmadukey dog.
but I’m commenting on it because it really did crack me up, literally loling and just did again, picturing it saying, you mean my face won? why I don’t know. but I find it hilarious.

This type of thing happens in Cow and Boy all the time. In fact this is rather tame… the strip has built up a large amount of in jokes (many of which are also running jokes) which can suddenly pop up for the final panel with no warning or explanation (examples: suddenly walking off a cliff, getting attacked by Cat Copters, and the whale with a a rocket launcher… all of which were recently put together in a single strip… since then the whale has teamed up with a deer with a rocket launcher to become the scourge of the navy, and it’s only a matter of time before that’s added to the cliff running joke). Cow and Boy can be quite surreal for a person just starting to read it.

I think the joke is that he was re-phrasing a common saying in his own extreme and weird way– then it turns out he actually *did* have an ATV and he actually *was* spraying mud at the cow. That’s slightly funny.

The last panel? Removed any funny I might have gotten from the previous three.

To be clear, I’m not saying it’s hilarious, I’m just saying I could see the joke there. Also to be clear: I don’t actually read this comic, so if he happens to have a ATV and peels-out in the mud every single strip, then… yah.

I’ve never been able to visually parse Cow’s face. It seems to have a huge hole drilled thru it, and totally freaks me out.

I’m glad that Brent (4) called attention to the fact that the strip is called “Cow & Boy”. Without that tip, I would have thought it was an oversize dog.

Yeah, if you’re going to cut the fourth panel you might as well cut the third because it just shows what panel two says. The joke is the fourth panel… instead of ripping up a bunch of mud in Cow’s face, he’s flipped the ATV and is now muddy himself. Meaning, of course, that Cow’s face has really come out ahead in this mud-athon.
