Ick Is…

Timothy Carignan: Sure, they’re trying to copy the innocent “Love Is” comic. However, Jeremy and his girlfriend are horny teenagers, and now they’re in the comics naked?

I’m not at all bothered by them being naked Love Is types, since…they’ve got Love Is bodies, so clearly, this Jeremy and Sara from the Love Is universe, where clothes are only worn for special occasions, and there’s nothing salacious about their nudity.
I am, however, thoroughly repulsed by the toaster strudel gag.

I sort of thought maybe Jeremy and Sara went back to kindergarten or whatever — although she does seem to have acne, so I actually got nothing to offer here. Ick was my first take.

Is “Ick” a new category?

I wonder how Pillsbury feels about this one. Think Scott and Borgman will get some free toaster strudel? Or possibly a lawsuit? I was very unsettled by this. I’m just hoping this won’t be a weeklong theme.

Oh, and I believe the little dots all over her face are freckles, not acne.

I find it hard to believe Jeremy would go to the bother of squeezing the frosting onto the toaster strudel and then lick it off. Squirted right from the packet into his mouth is more his style.

Jeffrey T., Noted. I think you’re right. She still has them., no? So that [slightly] lessens the ick factor for me.

I’ve never had a pop tart or toaster strudel and am disinclined to try. The “fresh” pastery from bakeries is disapointing enough these days. I thought that Sara and Jeremy were splitsville, moved on to greener pastures as my ex is wont to say.

Has there ever been any actual evidence of horniness on Sara’s part?

Usual John - certainly no evidence after she gets a licked toaster strudel!
And my Jeremy, that’s one limp … toaster strudel you got there.

“You know what you two need? A little comic strip called ‘Love Is…’ It’s about two naked eight-year-olds who are married.”

Or squirting it right from the packet into *her* mouth. Of course, to do that while they’re both naked would get the cartoonists fired.

The licked-soggy toaster strudel was a big eww for me. Although it looks more like a pop-tart in such a condition.
I don’t think that’s acne on Sara’s face. Just freckles.

Growing up with three older brothers, I can tell you… licked food is nothing and means nothing. I tried to keep one of them from eating my sandwich by licking it. When I came back, he had the last bite in his mouth.

I hated this run of Love Is’s but they were better than the Zombie Parents. that was as icky as licked pastry
we used to do that to our ice cream sandwiches, one of the few dessert options in elem school. someone would always ask for a piece, so you licked all the edges in an ostentatious manner, so they’d pick on someone else.
