Rasheed: Between today’s (Wednesday the 30th) Family Circus, Fast Track, and Rhymes with Orange, this is probably the grossest day of my Houston Chronicle comics page NOT involving the Argyle Sweater!

Previously…
Now their story is that when I upgraded my phone, I was agreeing to end my free data plan. since I have confirmation in writing that every aspect of my plan would remain the same (which is why I never deal with them over the phone), I see light at the end of the tunnel.

He’s back!
Well, in 60-year-old reprints, of course, but it’s the complete run of Milt Caniff’s classic adventure strip, with a new segment online daily. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore, kids.
(Now if only they’d do the same thing with Terry and the Pirates!)
Click the graphic to begin at the beginning. A link to the “current” strip is in the Comics blogroll in the left-hand column.

Troubled actress McKenzie Phillips, daughter of Mamas and the Papas co-founder John Phillips, is doing the talk-show circuit revealing and discussing her incestuous relationship with Papa John (who, dead since 2001, can’t defend himself).
Why mention this now? Three guesses, but I bet you’ll only need one.

I have to admit I find Mom’s confusion in the third panel somewhat puzzling: The obvious explanation would be that Jenna’s mother doesn’t make pancakes by adding water to a mix.

Yeah, we definitely need a tag for gratuitous, over-reactions. What is it about comic strips characters that the most seemingly innocuous comments are likely to result in threats, thrown items, or being chased about with the obvious intent to do serious bodily harm?

Because a lot of garages don’t lock; so if you’re going to lock up your car at night because you’re afraid somebody’s going to steal it, you’re going to lock it up even if it’s in the garage.

Nicole nominated this as a fairly obvious Arlo Award candidate. Is this the first time a mainstream newspaper cartoonist has gotten away with showing a naked nipple?

Is there anything here other than the incongruity of Spock wanting to be called Mister Hot Stuff? Maybe a reference to the fact that in the Star Trek reboot he seems to be in a permanent state of pon farr?

(and by “Sprint” I could, of course, just as easily mean “Cablevision.” “Comcast,” “Verizon” or any of the other usual suspects)
Our cell phone contract came with a free data package. Sprint deleted it from my phone (though not my kids’ phones) by mistake. How they managed to do this is complicated, but suffice it to say they admitted their error and apologized for it. That being said, they now tell me I’ll have to pay to have it put back into place, plus pay a monthly fee, since once the free data package is removed — for any reason — it can’t be restored.
Umm.. no?
Clearly, this will get properly resolved; but are there enough people who’ll say “Duh… sounds reasonable to me” to make this BS even remotely cost-effective for them?
