Does this count as a LOL or an EWW?
othiym23 Jun 15th 2009 at 04:12 am 2
I see what you did there.
Nicole Jun 15th 2009 at 08:01 am 3
Oh Jeez Bill — and MrKenneth is worried about the “I Guess Caulfield Will Have to Think of Something Else This Year” discussion turning political ?????
Fried Jun 15th 2009 at 09:41 am 4
So is this a CIDU, LOL, Ewww, or another site owner publishing their political bias?
Nicole Jun 15th 2009 at 09:43 am 5
Anyone who has been around CIDU know that politics rears it head every now and then — were you here for the New Yorker Cover discusssion ??????

It’s Aquaman. He, er, “fertilized” a fish. But what’s the doctor’s funny hat?
Steven Hunter Jun 15th 2009 at 10:01 am 7
@Fried - Fish eggs are also known as “roe”. It is a pun, a terrible *terrible* pun.
Dan V Jun 15th 2009 at 10:01 am 8
Okay, I see the Roe on the table - but I thought Aquaman didn’t Wade all that much - mostly swims in deep water IIRC.
RobynS8971 Jun 15th 2009 at 11:40 am 9
KR, that’s the doctor’s comb over, not a funny hat
Rainey Jun 15th 2009 at 11:41 am 10
Aquaman fathered some fish but they didn’t hatch yet. The lawyer is suggesting that Aquaman prevent the eggs from hatching by eating them, thereby destroying the evidence. Of course, the lawyer could also be trapping Aquaman into being charged with murder and destruction of evidence.
P.S. After rethinking this, I find it possible that the lawyer is offering to eat the eggs himself. I would need previous dialogue between the characters to know which scenario was accurate.

othiym23 and Steven are correct: There was no attempt at political comment here, only a pun I couldn’t resist at 2am
Kate Jun 15th 2009 at 12:53 pm 12
Could this be an invitation to cannibalism?
Nicole Jun 15th 2009 at 01:14 pm 13
For some strange reason this discussion has lead me to think of this Monty Python sketch

Now … off to get some brocolli

Dan V, you just made the cartoon funny! Thanks!
elizabeth Jun 15th 2009 at 06:04 pm 15
well i was confused about it when i received it in my email from gocomics. then when i saw it here, I realized they had left off the explanatory caption “before Roe v. Wade” in the email.
Norm Jun 15th 2009 at 07:41 pm 16
If it’s caviar, that roe is already toast (so to speak) ….
David N Jun 16th 2009 at 12:17 am 17
Judging from the size of that can, he might have a tough roe to hoe.
Powers Jun 16th 2009 at 07:10 am 18
elizabeth — that’s CIDU Bill’s caption; it wasn’t written by the cartoonist.
Keera Jun 16th 2009 at 10:47 am 19
Mmmm… Caviar on toast! Norm, you just made me hungry!
