LOL-April 13
Cidu Bill on Apr 13th 2009

In Michigan this past summer, partygoers were playing a game called “the stupidest thing I’ve ever done.” When it came to be Jerry Rose’s turn, he said he “shot a guy in the head.” Which Rose’s girlfriend mentioned to police when they were questioning her about a series of unrelated break-ins. Which led to Rose’s arrest for the March 22 murder of a 60-year-old man and his arraignment on murder and armed robbery charges this past Friday.
All in all, the shooting might have been only the second stupidest thing Rose had ever done.

I believe that the grandparent comic was drawn at the Alaska Governor’s Mansion.

The basketcase comic is an immediate classic. LOL for me.

OK, so the colorist doesn’t read the strip before he colors it. That’s fine. But if a strip’s joke hinges upon a pink shirt can’t the cartoonist give a note saying “Make the shirt pink”?

Future message posters, please correct me if you think I’m wrong but the man’s shirt in the Frazz comic does look pink to me.

The colorist was in the ballpark at least. I have seen worse.
The closest color I could I could identify the shirt as would be Apricot

err, Apricot
Assuming html links work in Wordpress..

Rainey, the shirt definitely looks pink to me too. I would say it is salmon pink. I think balsamic vinegar could easily tint a shirt that color.
Salmon pink - http://fanaticcook.blogspot.com/2005/02/salmofantm.html (this is here just for the color fan - nothing else.)

Interestingly, both apricot and salmon are considered to be a shade of orange, rather than pink. There are pinkish qualities to the shirt, but then I supppose it’s rather subjective at that.

Rusty - if you click on your salmon link the first sentence is:
“Salmon is a range of pale pinkish-orange to light pink colors”. That says more about pink than orange. No matter what, everyone see colors a little differently. I often ell my husband he has clashing colors on and he thinks they area identical.

Know what? The color on my monitor was slightly off. It could certainly be pinker, but it does count as pink. I should know then to comment on colors seen on my 11 year old monitor.

Well, I can’t comment on the pinkness of his shirt (I wouldn’t consider it pink, but I don’t live in Frazz World), but I CAN comment on the joke, namely that…it’s wrong. I’ve done extensive experimentation with food dying of yarn, and Balsamic Vinegar WOULDN’T turn your shirt pink. It might possibly turn it a light tan/beige, but pink? No. Red Wine vinegar, or Raspberry vinegar, maybe. But Balsamic? Nope.

The shirt ain’t pink. Of course, what would be wrong with wearing a pink shirt? And since when does Frazz (pencil-necked geek extraordinaire) get to comment on the look of another man?
Mitch4 Apr 19th 2009 at 01:33 pm 13
I’m with you, why would a pink shirt be an embarrassment? Some quite “manly men” I know wear pink shirts often, as it suits their coloration (and sometimes the rest of their clothing).

I thought that Frazz was complimenting the shirt not realizing that it was the result of an accident.
