Except this time we’re actually talking about orange juice.
In another How Stupid Do They Think We Are episode, Tropicana is proudly offering us Trop 50, with half the sugar and half the calories of their regular orange juice. The secret, apparently, is a drink that’s 1/2 orange juice and 1/2 water, enhanced with vitamins to equal what you’d get in a glass of actual orange juice.
As you’d expect, the price for this H2OJ is the same as for their actual orange juice — but if you look closely, you’ll see that insult has in fact been added to injury: Where the orange juice container contains 64 ounces, the identically-priced (and near-identical-looking) Trop 50 container contains 59 ounces. Yes, you’re expected to pay a premium for the watered-down product.

File this under “How stupid do they think we are?” (which of course is generally a rhetorical question).
A local supermarket chain is publicizing the “Exciting News!” that any customer who spends at least $1000 in a calendar quarter will receive 1 Continental Airlines OnePass point for every $2 spent. All very well and good, but no mention of the fact that up to now they were awarding 1 point for each dollar spent, without any $1000 threshold.
