An Iraqi reporter threw a shoe at George Bush, Junior, near the end of his administration but unfortunately, the President dodged it.

Yeah, got that. My point was that this comic is running 3 1/2 months and one president late. Sometimes a cartoonist should say “Damn, I wish I’d thought of that 3 months ago!” and then move on.

I think most comedians are still coming down from the “George Bush is president” high and still need to throw a joke in every now and then.

Hey, you never know when someone might chunk a shoe at an American president. It seems people are expecting Obama to be more of a Superman than they ever did George W., in any case.

Speaking of comedians hanging onto jokes, I saw the same guy about 3 years apart, first time while GHW Bush was pres, second when Clinton was pres. He had such a good Dan Qualye joke (or so he thought) that he went through a tortured setup just to keep it in his act after Dan was no longer veep.

Who is the man talking to? The woman isn’t looking directly at him, she’s looking towards his crotch. At first I thought the joke was that he’s talking to an invisible person on the couch, who, despite having the superhero talent of invisibility, doesn’t have the rest of the superhero abilities needed to be president. I guess my brain emphasized the “Boy…” as addressing a particular person, instead of being a synonym for “Gosh…”
Badly drawn cartoon even if it were topical. When one person’s speaking directly to another, they should be looking at each other. Instead they’re both sort of looking down at the empty space on the couch.
