Did you know that the “Bloody Mary” she’s invoking is actually named Mary Worth?
So she’s just unleashed a tsunami of meddling.

I don’t get the synchronicity. I just get that some gag is done with mirrors.
Since I saw that episode of that episode with the two ghost-hunting brothers or was it the ghostwhispering chick, the xkcd joke cracked me up. The candyman one is a CIDU.

Candyman is a movie series based around a story that’s functionally identical to Bloody Mary - stand in a darkened room, say the name multiple times into a mirror, and the vengeful spirit will appear.

In the movie candyman you chant his name to summon him. Skull throws in “handycam” as the last word because he’s scared.

Ah, yes, cartoons that remind I should keep up with popular culture no matter how mind-numbing it is.
Thanks for the explanations!

Bill Zilch,
Maybe for Skull “Candyman” is a tongue-twister, like the classic “toy boat.”

Yet, as I remember the Candyman movie, you only had to say his name 3 times to summon him.
I liked the South Park episode better, where they summon a rap star (can’t remember who).
