Four-legged animals with broken legs are nearly always killed - and the dangling broken leg is giving me serious Barbaro flashbacks - so I just can’t get past the ick and sadness to the funny. I know humor always theoretically has a whiff of cruelty to it, but this one just makes me cringe.

It was a lol for me, though it’s not easily explained why. It’s typical Cow and Boy humor - the boy’s big fear of getting tricked and hurt is unfounded and irrelevant since he’s too clumsy to kick it anyway. He thought his friend would deliberately inflict pain on him, but he accidentally inflicted far worse on her. I guess maybe it qualifies as irony?
