The Schrodinger’s & the Jesus comics are two of the funniest that I have seen in quite a while!

The Jesus comic made me ROTFLOL!

If you were to actually perform Schrodinger’s cat experiment and they charged you with cruelty to animals, would your guilt or innocence be undecideable if you never looked into the jury box?

I’ll settle fotr 6 more weeks of winter.

I agree with Matthew — Schrodinger’s Outlaw and alien Jesus are hilarious.

The problem with Schrodinger’s Outlaw is that you can’t bring him back dead and alive: as soon as someone catches him, they’ll collapse his wave function.

I almost sent in the Jesus one as a LOL, but was worried about instigating another round of “is this sacrilegious”? Particularly because what really made me laugh was the bonus panel.

I did not understand the Schrodinger’s outlaw strip.

  9. Elyrest Dec 2nd 2008 at 01:18 pm 9

Rainey, it involves the concept of Schrödinger’s cat who might be alive or it might be dead depending on events. Read up on it in Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger%27s_cat.

I read a science fiction short story once that dealt with the idea of Jesus traveling from planet to planet. There was a character who was a space traveler who was tracking down Jesus and, at the end, had arrived (again) just after Jesus had left.

Does anyone know the title of this story???????

I thought the Jesus one was hilarious too. Can’t say I blame him too much!

Tim — that’s “The Man”, by Ray Bradbury.

Can someone explain Desert Sands to me? Is it just the incongruity of the bowling shoes, or is there more to it than that?

Prediction: Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal will never, ever, have another cartoon as funny as the Jesus one. And not many other strips will, either.

Usual John — it’s implying that used bowling shoes are toxic.

  15. Usual John Dec 2nd 2008 at 09:57 pm 15

Ah. Thanks, different Patrick. I guess you can tell that I’m not much of a bowler.

    Thanks DonBoy!

Part of what made Schrodinger’s Outlaw funny was that it requires just a bit of knowledge to understand. Wit is humor that uses, flatters, & improves the audience’s intelligence or knowledge.

Morris is right. We could say that the poster is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The outlaw is ALREADY dead and alive. (As is the cat, as are we all, which is what made Schrodinger’s observation so wonderful.)

Elyrest, Thank you for enlightening me. Who would have thought you could actually learn something from reading comic strips.
