The final panel is the actual CIDU, but just as an aside… Isn’t it a given that members of a surgical team are supposed to perform flawlessly? Not really a big margin for error there…

Marcy thinks that her MVP status would get a great reaction from the crowd (as one would from a sporting event), but since it is surgery and only stoic doctors are watching, no one cheers for surgery.

Shouldn’t her cap have bounced off a window?

Observation Gallery should be separated from the OR to maintain sterility …. never mind this is a comic

There isn’t a *big* margin of error, Bill, but there is a small one. Marcy might have performed well by virtue of anticipating the surgeon’s needs or performing other tasks particularly quickly and efficiently.

What’s ironic to me is that after performing “flawlessly,” she flung her contaminated surgical cap into a crowd of people. Not exactly a very health-inducing thing to do.

The praise made her feel like a rock star, so she did what a rock star would do, just like throwing guitar picks and drumsticks into the audience.

The joke is her actual surprise that nobody scrambled for it the way concert audiences do for the things rock stars throw them.

Uh, and it’s just a light, fabric cap. It wouldn’t bounce off anything. It might float midair for a bit and then slowly ease toward the ground…
