Pretty simple. We’re drilling oil so fast we’re getting rid of the Earth’s “oily skin” problem.

Yes “They” means us, the humans. The poor earth had so much “oil” in its “skin” that we’re doing it a favor by taking it out. So perhaps not a comic that confused Al Gore, but one that ticked him off?

Now if we could come up with something to help the Moon with its acne . . .

Quite possibly the Earth was happier when it was all sand and rocks and water with none of those itchy bushes, before there was any life at all on it — like the other planets. So we would really be doing the planet a favor if we continued on our course until it can no longer sustain any life.
Seriously: what do your friends think of you when you’ve got lice crawling out of your hair and fungus growing on your neck? Well, how do you think the Earth feels?

Well, quit walking and driving around on it, then. You’re probably making it itch.

Well, before people began drilling off of the California coast, a number of beaches had a lot of oily sludge from ocean floor seepage. After off-shore drilling began the sludge stopped appearing on the beaches. Must be what the Earth is talking about.

This is a commentary of people not transporting or using as much oil because of its recent high price.
